– How to Test Zoom Meetings: yes, you really need to!

 

Before you meet, check your video using zoom. To access the settings for your profile picture, click it. You will find it under the Video tab. It is a good idea to prepare for Zoom by taking some time to practice. Because Zoom is an app available on a variety of mobile devices — including mobile phones, tablets, iPads, and Android devices — you should set up a Zoom meeting on your computer before signing in by phone or tablet.

Zoom works when you tap into its client for you to test your video before a meeting. Go to your profile picture, then click Settings, then choose your profile picture. The Video tab is accessed by clicking the Bookmark button. On the screen above are a few previews from the selected cameras. If more than one camera is available, you can choose another.

You can reach Zoom on an iOS or Android device. You can find Settings under the bottom-right corner. Meetings can be accessed by tapping them. If you want the setting to apply to Always Show Video Preview, touch the toggle next to it. During zoom sessions, you can launch a free Zoom meeting even without being in the meeting.

When you have done this, we will host a test session to find out what you like most. Zoom is available independently on your computer as an app, open sessions on the keyboard of your computer as host, or as open sessions on another devices such as tablets, laptops, etc. Opening Hours : Mon – Fri: 8am – 5pm. In the Zoom test meeting, one of the pop-up windows will allow you to test out your speakers. Join Computer Audio by clicking on the link below. The Zoom portal will bring you in to the process.

In other words, as a student you should enter your Zoom session on another device. Simply click on Test Speaker and Microphone after joining a meeting. You will be able to test your speakers by opening a pop-up window during the meeting. You might want to switch microphones rather than audio replaying at that point; use the drop-down menu or click the No button in order not to hear what message the speakers were telling you.

Just click the blue Join button after loading the test website. Once you click Join, a popup may appear, allowing you to choose your Zoom app. From here, you can choose Join without video or Join with video.

If you plan to attend your meeting with video, choose Join with video so that you can fully test your internet connection and webcam.

You will then connect to the test meeting. A window will open just as it would if you joined any other Zoom meeting, except this one is only for you. You will be able to see yourself as others would in your view screen. Depending on your Zoom account and the version of Zoom you have installed on your computer, you may see a popup window asking, Do you see yourself? Take a look at your complete setup.

The popup will change to the question, Do you hear a ringtone? If you hear the ringtone, choose Yes. Speak and pause; do you hear a replay?

If you choose Yes, you will see Your device is working properly! Then you can choose End Test , which will close the test window and end the meeting. You can test your meeting audio by locating the microphone in the bottom left corner. Choose Audio Settings… from the drop-down menu, which will open a number of settings, including a Test Mic option.

Here you can see the Input Level and Input Volume. Test the levels by raising and lowering your voice, and adjust the Input Volume as needed. If a popup appeared when you first joined the test meeting, an End Test button will appear after you answer three questions about your video and audio.

End Test will close the test window and exit the Zoom application. You will then need to choose Leave Meeting , and the Zoom window will close. The test Zoom meeting automatically ends after three minutes. You will see This meeting has been ended by host when your time has run out.

If you want to do further testing, you can always open a new test meeting by going back to the original test link. You can use the same meeting test tool from an iPhone or android. Simply locate the same test link on your mobile device.

From here, you can follow the instructions to Join the meeting. You must have the Zoom mobile app installed in order for the test meeting to launch.

Please wait for the host to start this meeting: The setting ” enable join before host ” is not set, and the host has not yet joined the meeting. Hosts automatically receive email asking them to join.

You will be prompted to join the meeting a short time after the host joins. Please enter the meeting password: The meeting requires a password; enter the password provided by the meeting host. If you do not know the password, contact the meeting host for assistance.

This meeting does not allow phone dial-in: The host may only have allowed VoIP audio. In this case, if you dial into the general Zoom teleconferencing number and enter the meeting ID, you will hear the message above and the call will disconnect.

You will need to join the meeting with a computer or a smartphone app. Not meeting host.
